It's Time I Start Again

Lately, I am a lot more intereseted in fashion as a place to find self expression and self acceptance. In the past, I would have been shocked to hear this. I am a non-hour-glass shaped large woman. Society is pretty sure I should live in sweats and mumu’s and hide out on my couch with oreos.

However, I recently found a few great tumblrs (looking at you glitter politic, ashrussell, and the chubby fashion) where people are posting pictures of their great outfits. I see these and think: I can do this! Fashion is for me too! I’m not too old, queer, and fat!

Andi is always encouraging me to dress a little better. Last weekend, he prevented me from trying to return all of the clothing that I picked out at Marshall’s. (I’m really bad about filling a cart with clothes to purchase and then ditching it all at the last minute and only buying one thing.) I have to thank him for talking me into adding a few things to that cart. I had great outfits last week each day, and it made me feel very confident.

Expect more posts from me including my great new outfits. I am going to keep having fun with this.
