I know that usually crap media about autism uses titles like “the wall” to talk about the person with autism’s mind. In this instance, it refers to France’s psych community’s inability to alter it’s thinking and way of doing things. It also evokes the walls that this system puts up to children actually getting the chance to live their lives. The thought of institutionalization for all people with autism sickens me.I have no idea how I feel about this film, but I’m inclined to not like it because the name is literally “The Wall”.Banned in France due to the poor light it reflects upon the psychoanalyst community there, this film sheds light on how not to treat people with autism spectrum disorders and any other developmental disability. Imagine being told that a) your child has autism because of your behavior b) being told that you have to be completely separated from your child, and c) being encouraged not to educate your child. Shame on you, France.
